Kirkland Neighbourhood Guide
Made up of mostly single family homes, Kirkland is known for the many sports and cultural activities it offers to its residents. Because it does not lie along the shores of Lake Saint-Louis, Kirkland focuses on quality landscaping within its parks and its green spaces.
Kirkland residents also enjoy easy access to the city of Montreal via the Trans-Canada Highway. Although the highway bisects the town, its position has allowed the municipality to have an industrial area along both sides of the highway while designating the rest of the town as strictly residential. Traveling into the city of Montreal will soon be even easier for Kirkland residents as the new Kirkland REM station is slated to be completed in 2023.
It should also be noted that thanks to an agreement between the Recreation Departments of the cities of Beaconsfield and Kirkland in 2010, Kirkland residents can register in any Beaconsfield recreation program (except for Day Camps), for the same fee as that paid by Beaconsfield residents.
